“Devon based design & branding agency biz-R has announced a complete relaunch after rebranding itself as ‘Believe in’. The company has also relocated to a new studio in Exeter.

‘After 14 years in business, biz-R as a name no longer represented who we are and said little about the business we’re in’, explained Blair Thomson, Creative Director, ‘After a lengthy renaming process ‘Believe in’ was chosen for its clear and creative brand appeal and its ability to be integrated into a unique language-centric approach. i.e. Believe in branding, Believe in the
tooth fairy etc. Our aspirations for the agency have continued to heighten and we can now concentrate on taking the business to the next level in Exeter’.”

Now for some juicy details on the stationery itself:
— Duplexed items were produced by Generation Press (printed on 100% recycled Fenner Colourset Black + Grey boards). Silver foil blocking and single 877 silver litho print.
— Letterheads Comp slips printed locally by Kingfisher Print (on 100% recycled Cyclus offset). Silver foil blocking and single 877 silver litho print.
— Sketch books produced by Seawhite of Brighton — Silver foil blocked onto black cloth.
— A ‘customised version’ of Colophon’s Reader was used for the main mark + extensions. All other copy is in straight bold.

Cheers again to Mr. Blair Thomson for the images and for believing in SeptemberIndustry ;) .

  1. Wow. Great to see our typefaces used in such a great way!

  2. Luke

Bloody nice set of stationery and huge step up from biz-R imo.

  3. David

@Colophon This is probably the first time I’ve seen Reader used in a situation such as this — studio rebrand — and I agree: it looks great and gives the overall ID a unique character.

  4. Tim Watson/prize Brand strategy

I think it’s pretty brave to go with such a unique name/idea, but given that all great brands need a strong idea at their heart Blair is on the right track. To pull it off he needs the idea to be evident in everything that he does. The idea really builds well through all his material as he explores opportunities to stretch the ‘Believe In’ theme, to the point where you can’t stop yourself joining in… He’s given us all an identity to believe in! It looks fantastic too, no wonder he’s so expensive!

  5. After seeing the results of this rebrand first hand I can say its a pleasure to see it get the recognition it deserves – a lovely high quality range of stationery and I really like the new typeface choice, something different but familiar and a real touch of class.

    Nice work

  6. Superb attention to print detail. Definitely moved up a notch from biz-R. Fantastic work, Blair (and team).

  7. Was just gonna ask what the typeface was! It looks great – one for the shopping list methinks.

As for the rebrand, it looks amazing. Great work Blair. As Luke says, a huge step up. Love the new name too.

  8. Nat Look

i received an address card and it is stationary with the feel of pressed carbonate. Showcases the companies talent in brand maturation through design and research by expressing themselves so precisely

  9. Fantastic design, really classy branding but also like the neutrality of the design to so that you feel that anything is possible from what you can offer clients. Great work all of you!

  10. To be honest, I wouldnt have expected anything less from Blair, the stationary looks great, he has bought all the elements together really well. When presnted in the way it is in the photos it all looks stunning.

Above all his team have got the attention to detail and quality of work to back it all up.

    Well done and good luck.

  11. Rob Stanwich

What could be a potentially interesting name and direction is let down by the execution. Uninspiring typography/design that I feel like I’ve seen a million times before.

Does it sell the idea at the heart of it – I don’t think so.

  12. Very, very classy, love it.
    Here to the fresh start.

  13. never one not to believe in ‘the world is your ouster’ blair!

    congrats dude!

  14. John

Got to agree with Rob Stanwich here, though nothing is “wrong” with this, it has been seen a thousand times before, grey scale, foil block, use of typography.. What makes this company unique?

  15. chris

Great looking stationery, love clean layout fits everywhere elegant and the fell of quality. I like to wish you the best with your new look.

P.s as to john comment above, what has not been done before, mats being used techniques etc. The Identity is not just about the look it what it means as a concept for the company and the image they want to portray to their audience.

At first glance what so it tell you?

    Best wishes
