EDITORIAL
After a pretty stressful week switching hosts from shared to VPS (twice in fact, because the first plan couldn’t handle the beast that is SI!) It’s nice to finally be back on the horse – not that I was ever off the horse in the first place ;)

Ending the week off right, we have a lovely piece of print by KentLyons and I’ve also re-upped the BERG feature which you can check out here. Comments, Likes and RT’s have now been restored on the entire site so don’t be afraid to show some appreciation for the tasty work you see before your eyes ;)

Now that this shiny new rack of servers can handle SI’s traffic and hunger for resources, I can finally get cracking on that SI “refresh” I was talking about many months back…

Thanks again to Nickie @ KentLyons for the nice large images.
And thank you to all the readers who have bared with me this past week and a half, I have some great stuff in store for you next week!

PROJECT INFO
The cover artwork is kept to a minimum, only displaying a debossed section of the pattern from within the book.
These patterns are then carried through to the first and last pages.

Each book has 144 pages, including 8 page coloured start and end sections, and comes with coloured section labels, an internal pocket and printed ruler.

For the internal pages we have selected a slightly thirsty paper that handles ink as well as pencil and is 100% FSC.
Printed in the UK by Identity.

  1. These are great, highly practical and an elegant execution. Personally I have always been more of a fan of grided note books than lined. Might have to snap one up for a fresh new year start.

  2. Paul

    Great to hear SI is back. Can’t wait to get my hands on one of these notebooks from the DM shop!

  3. What a beautiful notebook! I’m a fan of the dot grid pages. In fact, I just received an Action Method journal yesterday, so this one will have to go on my wish list.

    Glad you got the site back in order, David.

  4. Stuart

    This could be a nice change to my Moleskine. The problem I have with the Moleskine ribbon is that you can only mark one page at a time whereas this beautiful notebook has colored labels which you can write on!

  5. Beautiful and functional design

    @Jonathan I prefer my notebooks to have a combination of lined and gridded (best of both worlds) but I may make an exception this time around. It is Christmas after all ;)

    @Paul Good to be back!
    Here’s a link to the notebooks which I forgot to add earlier:

    @Kenny Thanks for dropping by, it’s a huge relief that the site is back in order! How are those Action Method Journals? I’ve never bought one because I prefer my notebooks to have relatively inconspicuous branding i.e. nothing on the front ;)

    @Stuart I hear you! That ribbon is always fraying at the end as well ;)

  8. They look lovely. Will definitely be picking one up.

  9. Lush. Cue the credit card one more time…

  10. @David I’ve become a big believer in the Action Method, so having a journal that allows for a place to extract tasks from separate notes and drawings was important. The black embossed “Action Journal” on the cover isn’t actually as pronounced as it appears on the images (http://media1.behance.com/product_images/19_008_gallery.jpg). In the dark, you can’t even see it! But yeah, I hear you on the branding.

    The Design Museum notebook may very well be my next notebook though. Thanks for sharing.

    @Kenny You’re more than welcome :)

  12. I would not buy these. I would never use them. They are TOO nice. Hahaa.

  13. David

    @Joey – That’s a hard habit to break ;)
