Villa Contemporary Art
Villa is a temporary pop-up store, based on a concept developed by gallery owner Jonas Kleerup in collaboration with Kurppa Hosk and architects Boys Don’t Cry. A contemporary art market and the place to go for the most recent and interesting art. Not a gallery, but an art market in its original sense. Graphic identity and packaging concept

Something as boring as smoking cessation products should at least get a more attractive packaging. The strategy allowed us to move more towards a contemporary approach which was not linked to the tobacco industry.

East Capital
East Capital has a glorious story. Back in the late 90’s and at young age, the founders of this successful asset management company started out with lots of courage and a great vision of capitalizing on the growth they foresaw in Eastern Europe. At that time, few believed in them. Today East Capital manages over 5 billion Euros invested in Eastern Europe and China. Kurppa Hosk manages the East Capital brand and has developed their visual identity as well as a broad range of brand applications. We wanted to create an identity that reflected courage and foresight, with a rigid framework that still had room for playfulness and surprise.

Well – this is no doubt some of the most well crafted and engaging work I have seen for what feels like a long time. Impeccable. Especially the strong typography throughout. And a great blend of diversity in their work, for such a relatively young agency.

Nice to see the featured typefaces for the Galleri Jonas Kleerup poster designs also.

I have to ask what’s happening with the Yoshi Sodeoka poster? Is it the main image which has been manipulated or a clever use of some obscure stock for the printing? Either way it’s definitely intriguing.

    Thanks for sharing.

  3. GeeDee

Grez, I think that the poster is a full bleed image of one of Yoshi’s works.

My first thought was that it was some wondrous shiny, holo-style stock, maybe it still is…

  4. The ‘Mark Red’ type is sublime, guessing it’s a bespoke typeface?

Reckon the poster could work well as a lenticular piece some day…

  5. Johnny

    Beautiful and clean work!

  6. Some beautifully elegant work. Love the VILLA stuff!

  7. Jonas Kleerup

The poster image is an off-set print 70x100cm (edition of 500) taken from the work “Skull” (Fine Art Ink Jet Print, 33×43.1cm, edition of 20). Both editions of the poster and editions of the art work are still available, please email us for prices if anyone is interested.
