Design Marque

“Oliver Spencer makes clothes to a template. A template of traditional values; Quality, Practicality & Invention. Quality in the materials chosen and the time taken to craft. Practicality in that every piece is infinitely wearable. Invention is the added spark that provokes curiosity. This is why we work with him.

Our response to this unique and inspiring brand character is a detailed approach and execution that has drawn upon both Oliver’s love of National Geographic and explorers from a forgotten age.

The Stag Beetle illustration by Janine Trott, commissioned by Marque is a lovely and intriguing reference to Victorian/Edwardian insect collectors, framing & cataloguing.

The logotype is a re-cut typewriter font inspired by a pre-school, utilitarian explorer aesthetic. The new brand can be seen across all merchandising, no more so than in Oliver’s flagship store on Lamb’s Conduit Street in London.”

I haven’t checked Marque’s website since their last update 3 months ago, so I was pleasantly surprised to see some new images of Oliver Spencer’s lookbook for the A/W season on their site – I particularly like the graphic treatment they’ve added to the photography. In addition, I’ve added a couple more images of Marque’s ongoing work with Oliver Spencer to compliment this post – you know how I do ;)
