Mikael Simpson ‘Noget Laant’ Sleeve Design
Mikael Simpson´s fifth album is dark and melancholic, extremely evocative and intensely oppressive.
Simpson, once again establishes a special intimacy with the listener, who is sucked into his universe.

‘Noget Laant’ features soft and stout bass, subtle hissing drums, a distinctive piano sound and Simpson’s warm, deep and delicate bright voice which brings a hypnotic, polyphonic and refreshing quality to the record.

A Few Words from the Editor

If the name ‘Muggie Ramadani’ sounds familiar it should; all you have to do is look at these previous SI Special features to be reminded of this Danish gentleman’s talent and he’s still very much a one-man band! I really have nothing else to add here folks, because (and here comes a bona fide cliché) the work does all the talking. Enjoy and thank you once again to my good friend Muggie for making this feature possible :)

Wow, that’s a right visual treat for a Friday! Love all the work, especially the AiAIAI pieces – and those Tracks headphones look great too – I want!

  2. Olly-M

Really inspiring work from Muggie. Love it!

  3. God damn impressive. The fact that he basically operates solo is even that more impressive.

  4. Ohs… I am so envious of that guy talent!

  5. carsten

There is originality lacking here. I cannot really say this is the best.
Yes, this is competent, but as his fellow Dane, I see many better designers around the city that you should hi-light.

  6. David

@carsten To each his own :) Care to share any of these designers? I’d be intrigued to see. :)

  7. casper

a lot of this is pure presentation and skillful photography, hiding the fact that the work is nothing more than just above average. the “GREAT” book is in my opinion really not worth mentioning.

  8. J Buckley

The “Great” book looks like all that “Cool Britannia” stuff from the mid-nineties.
    Very dated now.

    Very average work.

  9. David

    @casper @JBuckley Food for thought :)

  10. Jonathan B

This is really great work here. Super high quality work going on. This is absolutely not average work, but high-class and conceptual. As David wrote – To each his own.

  11. Excellent as usual!

  12. Sateen

I am glad to see some comments that confirm my opinion as this weeks work being very average. None of these projects seem to use the ‘ingredients’ of graphic design in a compelling way.

  13. Beautiful work as always Muggie

  14. AIAIAI — great project. High five. Lx

  15. Larsson

Incredible work here. Top quality scandinavian work. The level of work is among the best I have seen here on Septemberindustry. Please more posts like this.

Re-Public and B14 are both based in Copenhagen and produce (in my opinion) exceptional work.

  17. A.Carsson

In my eyes re-public and b14 looks like the same company and original at all. Unfortunately many of the showcases here are very similiar. Btw. Just saw that the above cases just got shortlistet for the most prestigious danish design and advertising award – creativecircle. I really like this work, it is fantastic, specially the aiaiai, but the cd cover is amazing as well.
