‘About Nokia’ Annual Report
Design Nokia Design Brand Team
This image has been sitting idle on my hard drive for quite some time now. It’s not that I didn’t want to post it on SI—quite the opposite actually. But the real reason reason why it took a while to make it online was because I really couldn’t be arsed to remove the image from it’s original background and sort out the “Levels” etc! Needless to say, I’ve finally got round to posting this image online and I’ve got to put it to you, it does look right at home amongst the other Nokia communications I’ve posted in the past.
This annual report for Nokia combines two different formats that carry different levels of information. The large French-folded pages feature a series of informal photographs of people printed onto a thin stock; a series of large typographic statements, some of which are printed in mirror image on the inside of the French-folded pages, are just legible through the light paper. A sequence of smaller pages are bound into the bottom of the brochure, printed on an uncoated stock, and feature the more conventional annual report information.
