Non Format

Greg Lynn Form is a new hardcover title designed by Non-Format (surprise, surprise) for Greg Lynn, a contemporary architect who “. . . has defined how designers and architects use computers as a medium, operating in an expanded field that fuses cutting-edge technology, contemporary art, and science fiction aesthetics with architectural form.”
I remember seeing this obese book at my local bookshop last Wednesday – I really didn’t have to guess who designed it because it was written all over the cover, as it were.

  1. I think Non-Format don’t get the recognition for the skill and craft they have in putting together a layout.

Yes we all love the custom fonts and illustrative work but I really like the way they have handled the content on the Greg Lynn Form. Their work on The Wire magazine is another example of a brilliantly controlled body of graphic design and structure underpinning the more decorative and eye-catching elements.

    Neil,

In addition to the work you mention above, I also liked the layout for “Look at This: Contemporary Brochures, Catalogues & Documents,” and I definitely agree that their layout work should receive more praise in comparison to their trademark custom typographic treatments. Maybe it’s their own doing ;)
