SheOne

SheOne has been painting and making graphics for twenty years, exhibiting in Los Angeles, New York, Tokyo, Sydney, Singapore, Berlin and Milan. His own brand of abstract typography is rooted deep in the new wave graffiti era of the early eighties but his stylised shorthand and uniquely expressive approach to paintings keep him firmly in the present.

“My approach to image making is to re-render abstracted hand drawn typography. Hip, data injected splats, overspray and accurate spills relay an emotional slang mapped out in a highly personal shorthand.”

Suffice to say, his work is extraordinary and I think it’s really refreshing to see an artist sidelining the usual multicoloured pictoral approach commonly associated with graffiti writing.
