Westal — Identity
The new identity for lighting manufacturer Westal was made to give the company a modern and honest look and still keep it’s traditional values. The company has been operating since 1947 and all of their products are hand-made. This spawned the idea of combining a traditional stamp/monogram-look symbol that speaks of quality and detail with a typeface that breaths industry and production.

FUWL (Form Us With Love) — Identity
Form Us With Love is a studio in Stockholm that focus on product design and interior architecture. Their new identity is based around the Gravur Condensed typeface, a link to their passion for craftmanship and production. The words that make up the logo are constantly shuffled to generate new solutions, like the studio itself generates new ideas every day.
For the neon sign, each word making up the name was put on an induvidual steel frame with wheels, making it possible to change their position. (Neon sign foto by Jonas Lindström)

Sturebadet — Magazine
Sturebadet is one of Stockholm’s oldest and most exclusive recreational clubs. Their magazine, which is for members only, has a general classic typography and design, linking it to the club’s noble past.

Kieler Woche — Poster Concept
The sailing event Kieler Woche in Kiel, Germany is one of the oldest in the western world. Since the 1940′s they have invited illustrators and designers to pitch for the annual design. This was my contribution. In the end, they chose another one. Done with and for HORT.

Siljan — Identity
Siljan is a young company involved in fashion retailing in Portland, Oregon. They focus on Scandinavian brands, hence the name “Siljan” which is a huge lake in northern Sweden.

Form Us With Friends — 2010 Poster & Invitation
Studio Form Us With Love arranged an exhibition and party in an old building undergoing renovation in central Stockholm. There was broken concrete, chipboard and cables everywhere. The poster and invitation was designed with inspiration from the colors and materials of this constrution site.
With work as handsome as Simon Renström’s, why bother wasting time writing an online bio? – Just include a list of past achievements, contact details and a small but highly appetizing selection of recent projects and leave the rest to fate, word of mouth and sites like SI ;). With that said, I couldn’t handle not knowing anything about any of the projects, yet alone the size of images! Suffice to say, it didn’t take long for Simon to oblige me with some project text and high-res imagery – thank you sir ;).
To view slightly larger and sharper versions of the images, just use, what I like to call “the old school method” of opening the image in a new tab and saving it to FFFFOUND! or wherever your heart desires.
