There’s nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia on a Monday morning (even if nostalgia isn’t your kind of thing), so what is this leading to you ask? Well, I googled the hell out of “The Designers Republic” following the rather sad news of their demise last week, and subsequently found a website called Oak.Neo that consists of a collection of message attachments that included /images, sounds, and designs of the many people who contributed to The Designers Republic’s original newsgroup forum, “neo.dr”, and it’s spin-off group, “oaktree”.
I painstakingly went through every single file on that site (if that isn’t patience and dedication I don’t know what is) and while some of the /images are completely pointless, you will find a plethora of classic material hidden in there including a tDR postage label, bits and pieces for Gatecrasher, amongst other things.
In other words, you owe me big time ;)
